The county is not only attracting more people, but average daily spending per tourist is also increasing.

New visitor records and origins

A total of 8,453,139 foreign tourists chose to vacation in the province of Alicante last year (half a million more than in 2024). They stayed in the region for an average of 9.8 days.

The British market is still the absolute leader. Most travelers choose air travel; over 81% arrive via airport ..

The breakdown of the main markets for Alicante is as follows:

United Kingdom: 31.4%;
France: 12%;
Scandinavian countries: 11%;
Netherlands: 7.7%.

Shift in vacation activities

While the beach remains a major draw, it is no longer the only reason for a trip to the region. Visitors are increasingly showing interest in other activities. During a vacation on the Costa Blanca, visitors often choose these activities:

Beach use: 82%
Shopping: 68.4%
Visiting cities: 66.8%
Entertainment and fun: 34,8%
Gastronomic activities: 33,3%
Cultural visits: 31,6%
Visits to natural areas: 29,3%

Rising spending per day

Changing preferences have a direct effect on vacation budgets. The average daily expenditure in the province of Alicante has increased to 138.4 euros.

Tourists who come specifically for sports (176 euros) or culture (150 euros) spend significantly more than the average beach visitor (137 euros).

The 2025 results show that the Costa Blanca is developing into a versatile year-round destination. The combination of a record number of over 8.4 million visitors and a willingness to spend more is strengthening the local economy.
